Credit and Collections Associate

Our Accounting department supports a busy manufacturing operation and other departments like Customer Service, Sales and Marketing. We are seeking an experienced Credit and Collections Associate. The candidate will be required to work 40 hours a week (8 hrs a day, Monday-Friday).

What You’ll Do

  • Contact banks, trade and credit associations, sales people, and others to obtain credit information
     

  • Study economic trends in firm’s industry or branch of industry to predict probable success of new customer
     

  • Evaluate results of investigations in order to determine credit validity
     

  • Establish credit limitations on customer accounts and re-evaluate customer credit on regular basis
     

  • Evaluate whether or not to release customer orders on hold by analyzing payment history
     

  • Discuss with customer by telephone in an attempt to determine reason for overdue payment, reviewing terms of sale, or credit contract with customer
     

  • Records information about financial status of customer and status of collection
     

  • Provides appropriate account information to Customer Order Management
     

  • Assist in month end procedures by providing analysis and reports on Accounts Receivable aging and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)

  • Process credit card payments made by customers
     

  • Assist with cash application when needed
     

  • Research and write up request for customer refund
     

  • Research reason for short payment and seek resolution, coordinate efforts with Customer Service
     

  • Send statements/invoices as requested by customers
     

  • Close AR at month end
     

  • Other duties as needed
     

Skills & Requirements:

  • Microsoft office

  • Exceptional organization and time management skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Two years of experience making business to business collections calls and evaluating credit worthiness
