Maintenance Technician Level 4
Play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and functionality of all machinery, equipment, and systems. This position is responsible for conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, performing repairs, assisting in the implementation of preventative maintenance programs, and evaluating current plant systems to make improvements . The Maintenance Technician is an essential part of the plant's operations, contributing to overall production efficiency, safety, and quality.

What You’ll Do
Equipment Maintenance:
-
Participates in or conducts new machinery installation, including and not limited to, installation of utilities to and between machines/equipment
-
Follows: electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logics, blueprints, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions of machinery or systems

Conduct regular inspections of machinery, equipment, and systems to identify potential issues and ensure proper functioning.

Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and calibration, to prevent breakdowns and minimize downtime.

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems and implement effective repair solutions.

Replace or repair faulty components, such as motors, bearings, belts, gears, and sensors.
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
-
Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions, breakdowns, and emergencies to minimize production disruptions.

Analyze complex technical problems and utilize problem-solving skills to identify root causes and develop efficient repair strategies.

Collaborate with other maintenance team members to share knowledge and expertise in resolving intricate issues.
Preventative Maintenance:
-
Assist in developing and implementing a structured preventative maintenance program to extend equipment lifespan and optimize performance.

Schedule and perform routine maintenance tasks according to established procedures and timelines.

Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements and closes out work orders according to the maintenance work process
Facilities
-
Maintain the physical infrastructure of the plant, including lighting, HVAC systems, plumbing, and other facilities-related components

Address facility maintenance issues to create a safe and productive working environment
Safety and Compliance:
-
Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations while working on equipment and machinery.

Identify and address potential safety hazards and report them to the appropriate personnel.

Participate in safety training and contribute to a culture of safety awareness within the plant.
Collaboration and Communication:
-
Work closely with production and engineering teams to understand equipment requirements and ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues.

Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, and fellow team members to provide updates on maintenance tasks, repairs, and equipment status.

Assist other maintenance techs with troubleshooting
Continuous Improvement:
-
Proactively identify opportunities to enhance equipment performance, efficiency, and reliability.

Provide input and recommendations for process improvements and equipment upgrades.
Qualifications & Requirements
-
High school diploma or equivalent; Technical or vocational training in mechanical or electrical maintenance is preferred.
-
Minimum of five years of proven experience as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
-
Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Working knowledge of electrical systems up to 480 VAC according to state and national electric codes.

Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams. This includes the ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals and drawings, and engineering specifications.

The ability to fabricate parts using machine shop equipment, i.e., power tools, lathe, and vertical mill. Basic knowledge of welding and other fabrication techniques

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Able to diagnose with a multimeter the following: electrical issues, bad relays, motors, fuses/heaters and shorts/grounds.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, when necessary.

Physical ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs., work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.

Knowledge of safety protocols, including OSHA Lock-out-Tag-out, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
Work Environment:
-
This position requires standing for the entire shift in addition to walking, bending, lifting, reaching, and pushing. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work in hot and cold, wet, and dry environments.
