Warehouse Manager
Oversees the warehouse shipping and receiving functions and prticipates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

What You’ll Do
-
Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.

Manage warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment.

Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment.
-
Prepares work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
-
Communicate with other departments to ensure products are shipped in a timely manner.
-
Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.

Directs salvage of damaged or used material.

Work with Logistic Specialist for performance of freight vendors and carriers.
-
Knowledge of domestic and international shipping.

Monitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives to improve employees.
-
Keep up to date on the latest federal and state safety regulations.
-
Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restock.

Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse.

Set warehouse and team goals in collaboration with executive management and other team leaders.
Other Responsibilities

Establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to warehouses.

Measure actual performance against goals on regular basis and present results to senior management.

Apply expertise to specify system functionality.

Utilizes the MRP in the most efficient, cost-effective manner.

Analyzes and collaborates with executive and departmental managers to determine and monitor the budget of the warehouse department.

Collaborates with executive and senior management teams to identify potential areas of improvement to achieve internal process efficiencies and/or internal/external cost reductions.

Develops a system to evaluate vendor quotations that utilizes appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service.

Recruits and maintains suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.

Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.

Documents cost savings, vendor quality and delivery ratings.

Essential Qualifications
-
High school graduate or equivalent required. Advanced education from college or technical school desirable.

5+ years experience.

Knowledge and experience in MS Office Suit

Proficiency with Excel and other analytical required

Experience working with ERP.
